Recreational Pilot Licence (RPL)
Whether you're aspiring for an aviation career or pursuing an engaging and fulfilling hobby, a Recreational Pilot Licence (RPL) is the first step in your Aviation Journey.
Course fees include all flight training, theory, briefings and examination fees.
OUR RECREATIONAL PILOT TRAINING COURSE
Our RPL course meets all CASA regulations and syllabus content, and is structured around same day integrated theoretical and practical flight training.
For those looking to progress further in their flight training or aspirational career pilots, your RPL satisfies stages 1 and 2 of the 3 stage Private Pilot Licence(PPL).
WHAT’S INVOLVED?
FLYING TRAINING
The RPL course includes a total of 33 hours flight training in a Cessna 172:
28 hours hours dual flight training and;
5 hours solo flying
The course requirements include a minimum of 20 hours under dual control, and 5 hours of solo flying however we quote additional hours for potential retraining given the course is competency based.
THEORETICAL TRAINING
Theory is integrated alongside our flight training. We believe pilots are best educated with all theoretical lessons supported with same day flying application.
Mandatory theoretical self-study is expected from students, and their competency will be evaluated by an instructor prior to sitting examinations.
To complete your RPL you will be required to sit relevant exams at our inhouse examination centre at Bunbury Flying School.
